- Stand upright with feet slightly apart.
- In your hands have a weight, dumbbell or any heavy like material that you can obtain
- Step forward to a lunge while chopping your weight across to the opposite side to the forward leg.
- Come back up while lifting the weight up above your shoulder.
- Carry out about two sets of 10 reps.
Trainer’s Tips
- Ensure you are stable before doing the exercise.
- Do take a weight that one can work with without excessive strain of the arms and back.
- Go at a moderate pace to avoid injuries especially for a beginner.
- If you have a back condition do seek first your doctor to identify if this is one of the exercises that is advisable to do.
- Ensure when doing the lunge that the front knee does not pass the foot.
